Best In Class: Spring Bags

A strong accessory is a great way to update your wardrobe and transition your look into a new season. This spring, handbag shapes, colors and designs feel particular fresh and appealing. Let’s get “carried” away. In a series of posts, I’ll be taking a look at some of my favorite big ideas in bags this Spring. First up:  the bucket bag. Happy browsing!

{the bucket bag}

This shape is really basking in the spotlight right now. It’s been picking up steam the past few seasons and now, everyone from Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent to American Apparel and Old Navy are offering the bucket. List of reasons why I’m on board:

1. it reminds me of the 90’s (enough said)

2. Drawstrings, shoulder slinging and perforation are athletic-gear details that make this shape feel inherently sporty, modern and slightly androgynous.

3. The low-end versions are, in many cases, virtually indistinguishable from their high-end cousins so you can participate in this look with a very small investment.

4. Though it’s trending in popularity, it’s not really a trend. It’s a classic shape that never goes out of style.
