Hello from Belgium!
As you may have gathered from my instagram account, I’ve been doing a bit of European travel baked into my annual trip to Finland to see relatives. I am presently exploring Belgium, a country I had previously never been to and one I will surely return to. It’s charms overflow and there’s something for everyone – food (waffles! fries! chocolate! beer!), art, design, fashion, history, architecture. Don’t even get me started on the picturesque Medieval towns of Ghent and Bruges – like stumbling into a fairytale.
Surprises await everywhere. This neon geometric mural greeted my boyfriend and I on our walk to dinner the other night in Brussels. The colors were too rich and cheerful to pass by. I tossed the camera into his hand and turned it into an impromtu photoshoot. Here’s a glimpse at one of my favorite tricks for efficient travel style: I love to wear denim-on-denim during the day with sneakers, and simply swap out the sneakers for a glamorous pair of heels for night. It’s just the right mix of relaxed and dressy. In a city bursting with colors, basics are all you need.
PS. An ankle strap sandal or heel elongates legs especially if you’re wearing a crop length pant (and don’t we all want more leg!?)
Lou & Grey Bleached Chambray Shirt (on sale!); Lou & Grey Skinny Jeans (yes, my love affair with this store continues…); gold-tipped heels from a delightful one-off boutique in Paris I discovered last weekend and can’t remember the name of… (sorry!)
