It’s official. My favorite spring hair-do is the crisscross ponytail. A classic ponytail always feels intrinsically tomboyish, but this one is all grown up. It’s sporty and practical but also pretty and alluring. It’s casual enough to wear in the summer with cut off shorts but polished enough that you can also wear it at night with a dress. You can wear it low, as in this tutorial, or higher for more bounce. And what I love most about this style is that if you are someone like me that has curly or wavy natural texture this is one hairstyle where you can run toward your natural hair – not from it. No need to pre-heat style (blow dry or curling iron) before putting your hair up. The more frizz and natural wave the better!
To create the one in photos below, I had my favorite styling wizard Abby, at Arch Apothecary give me a hand. After watching her do it and consulting this fantastic photo tutorial on PopSugar, I’ve had no problem re-creating this style on my own.
Happy spring hair, All!
